Each country has its own problems in the health care industry but I believe both are equally good. In the states (and correct me if I’m wrong) if you don’t have insurance surgerys and other medical care can be extremely expesive which is one con of their health care system. Now in Canada- basic health care is
free. For example I am having a kidney transplant and my mother recently had surgery for cancer, and neither of us had to pay anything. However even though I have never encountered it there is the problem of wait times for certain procedures, like MRIs. You see my point is both of our countries health care systems are good and both have their flaws- so what are your thoughts? Read More

I have read the Act ( http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/z?c1… ) and cannot find anything that would force a private hospital or individual doctor to perform abortions. The Act states that “A GOVERNMENT may not deny or interfere with a woman’s right to choose” a private hospital or individual doctor is NOT a part of the government.

Medical Tourism Today
Short wait times are also a major benefit of medical tourism. This is especially true in countries that have socialized medicine. Patients in England or Canada, for example, often have to wait months, sometimes years, for a simple MRI. When the same patients travel to popular medical tourism destinations, they can receive treatment almost as soon as they get off the plane. At Bumrungrad hospital in Bangkok, Thailand, for example, the average wait time for a walk-in patient (i.e., a patient who hasn’t made any type of reservation), is approximately 17 minutes. This type of convenience is hard to beat. Read More

I am interested in finding an insurer who will cover, at least in part, costs associated with wearing reusable (washable) adult (cloth) diapers? Does anyone know if such an insurer exists in the United States? Read More

My wife was recently in the ER for a bad case of the flu and ended up walking away with a bill that is almost $1500. Luckily we had insurance to cover most of that. I know that the high cost partly results from those with insurance having to foot the bill for the uninsured, hence the $20 box of kleenex in ERs.
From what I gather, the big difference between Obama and Hillary’s health plans seems to be that Obama mandates insurance for those under 25 whereas Hillary mandates it for everyone. I’m a Obama supporter but I wish he would consider making his plan more universal.
I believe he mandates coverage only for those under 25, and gives a choice of going uninsured if you’re over 25. It seems very unusual to me to have people oppose being required to have health insurance when they have no problem paying for auto insurance.
So with his current plan, wouldn’t the rest of us continue to have to pay for the uninsured 26 year olds? Or am I mistaken? Read More
