I would be very grateful for any advice where to ask for help with prenatal health care if I dont have health insurance either medical card. I resident in Montreal, Canada as temporary resident visa holder which is valid till the end of 2007. The father of the baby is Canadian I am Polish. I am in my 13 week of pregnancy.
As a temporary visa holder I was informed in CIC that I cannot appy for medical card.
What to do if I am not that sure if I will be supported by my the so-called-father? are there any places where I could get some support?
Please help.

marry him, go back and explain your situation and stress the importance of prenatal care, and if they wont help, call local news or newspaper

Oh my gosh… ok you absolutely need to try and get temporary coverage, some insurance companies will issue insurance based on a visa number. You can also try a free clinic in Canada, something like Planned Parenthood. If worse comes to worse, you should just go home and receive the care that you need to have a healthy baby. When all is well you can come back. Or why Doesnt the father come to your Country with you and you have the baby there, then come back to Canada??? just some ideas, good luck.
